I grew up in Durban, South Africa and moved to Camden Town, London when I was 19 in 2001. I now reside in Los Angeles. Having no formal training or studies in photography, I am self-taught and my first occupation was as the official Fashion Week Front of House/Backstage photographer for the Daily Mail. Covering over the years London, Paris, Paris Couture and New York Fashion Week. I have contributed editorially and written interviews for Various Fashion Magazines.
After photographing people of Camden Town I have amassed quite a large selection of photos which celebrated the vibrant scene from 2004-2011 with the beautiful girls that ran the streets.
The project is called 'Filthy Gorgeous' because all of us ran wild living, working and partying in Camden and we had no inhibitions. Photographing these characters from 2004 I never thought to put these photos out as a project as I considered these my personal photos that we would all look at the next day and laugh at which in the end became a photographic diary of events in our life.
The series of photos presented was initially a self-published zine which I have now turned into a 120 page book.
Filthy Gorgeous Camden Town was exhibited at the Doomed Gallery in London on the 14th July through to the 19th July to critical success.
It was reviewed by the Observer Newspaper Arts New Review in a 2 page spread with an interview and later picked up by other press including i-D magazine who reviewed the exhibition with an interview as well. Self Publish, Be Happy reviewed the Zine which accompanied the exhibition.

It was quite the time to be living in Camden when everything was Indie, Rock, Punk, Vintage and we never left Camden to go out anywhere else. I always had a camera on me so I was always photographing so everything was very natural. These women represented everything about our period at that time in London and were smart, fashionable and witty.
They were and are my friends and always felt comfortable around me to take their photo and were more insistent on it too. I documented our nights out as we ran amuck, crawling the gritty Camden bars jumping from one pub to the next. We were friends with everyone in the market at that time and was the best time to live in Camden.
I think the photos speak for themselves as they show a time in our lives when we were young and free and indicative a rare special moment in that time.
10 years on we are all became successful humans in our respectable fields as Artists, Journalists and even Mothers. It was a period in our life when we had no responsibilities and it didn’t matter where we woke up the next day, or worried about if we had enough money for a kebab.
