Salt halves at the Werra
At the sight of these mountains one feels, on the one hand, encouraged to give in to the aesthetics of the mountain landscape, but on the other hand it is irritated and horrified by this heap, dumped by human hands into the landscape. Over 150 million tonnes of salt produced as a waste product of potash extraction, with all the environmental problems associated with rivers and groundwater.
There are landmarks, extreme interventions in the landscape and an ecological powder barrel.
