This is a series of photos of trees in Bukhansan National Park in South-Korea, where I had a chance to live recently.
After living in Europe I have decided to continue my studies in Seoul. The contrast was consequent: this experience have expanded tremendously my vision about the world; Asian culture have inculcated in me to pay a special attention to the details. And this is what I tend to translate into the language of photography because it promotes to see something invisible in visible chaos of reality.
In this series I tried to create something new from habitual by “cropping” the reality where everyone sees the same thing. My aim was to line up this “rectangle” so that the harmony could become obvious to others.
So, I concentrated my attention mostly on color spots of different trees which create all together a sort of “random palette of nature”. The trees here are not represented as the trees in our usual sense but like the contrast lines which support the general composition. It creates a sort of ambiguity when the viewer understands what is represented but do not knows what to look for at first sight. In the first place it recurs to the associations and metaphors and after the objects themselves. Consequently, it provokes some new emotional facets by active perception of the images.
All the landscapes are different and they are shooted in different seasons and time of the day: some of them are more watercolor and delicate, others landscapes are more restrained in means of expression or vice versa.
The thing that unites everything and everyone - is the same perception of a material form (photo in this case) which can help to reconsider something ordinary and discover something necessary at the moment.
