Lake Sasyk Sivash in Evpatoria, Crimea. The largest salt lake in the Crimea. Near the lake there are pools for salt extraction. Every summer, the water takes on a rosy shade due to the vital activity of unicellular algae of the Dunaliella saltwater species, which produce a significant amount of β-carotene. The waters of artificial lakes can acquire color from pink to intense red.
