This series of images was made on a recent train trip along the Trans-Mongolian Railway route from Beijing, China, through Mongolia and finishing in St Petersburg, Russia. It is a trip that I have wanted to make for many years so I was glad to see it finally falling into place late last year.

The journey took me on 10 different trains and over 2 months to complete. In that time I covered more than 7500km (4660 MIles) by rail and although progress was sometimes slow, I thoroughly enjoyed experiencing the changing landscapes and cultures that stretch along this famous route.

My work aims to capture the oddities, similarities, and also differences of people across these regions.

The series was shot entirely on 35mm film.
