Urban - NOMINEE: Luka Čulig

Choi Hung Estate, Hong Kong, Spring 2018. Inspired by the ultra-saturated tones of the Superflat art movement and retro-style illustrations, combining it with a washed-out/faded look, in an attempt to develop a different aesthetic that forces the contrast to come from colors (hue/saturation), rather than luminosity. The intention was to take a famous spot used a backdrop for numerous social media posts and present it in a unique way, making the viewer ask himself if he is looking at a drawing, a render or a photo.
