A Japanese Night Wandering

Japan is one of the countries with the highest population density in the world. Millennia cities like Tokyo, Kyoto or Osaka have millions of inhabitants. These cities, similar to large anthills, are governed by the rules of life in society, where, paradoxically, individualism and anonymity go hand in hand.
If the during day individualism of each one stands under the flow and the rhythm of the vibrante community, the night seems to settle in the anonymity. As if caught in a temporal rift, the city is the scene of the nocturnal wanderings of thousands of anonymous people. This series of photographs proposes to emphasize this paradox of anonymity and individualism within a community by isolating characters among thousands of others. Souls and bodies are like ghosts, stealthy shadows. Between visions and reality, as the smoke is revealed in the light beam, characters appear and disappear under the raw lights of neon lights.
It is in these urban nights that I decided to wander in order to grasp this elusive reality through candid photography.
