On september 6th 1989 José and Emilio Alcázar, twin brothers, were abducted by an alien space ship downtown Madrid city, and came back accidentally in the year of 2005. Time passed by normally for everyone except for both of them. Today they are 53 years old, and their only purpose in life is to assist everyday between 7 and 10 pm to the place they were abducted, hopping that the space ship would come back for them and return to their true world.Captions Destined.
Explanation:
José and Emilio Alcázar are twin brothers of 53 years old lovers of rock who have become a legend and tradition of Gran Vía, one of the most important streets in the city of Madrid for more than 15 years. They are recognized for visit the same place every day and keep alive the memory of a place and a time that no longer exists. José and Emilio are an example of resistance, firmness and endurance to their believes, society, capitalism, climate, criticism and prejudice. They have been very photographed by tourists and the news in Madrid, until the citizens considered something normal. My main goal was to find a way to tell the story in a different way far from what have been shown, and find a way to rescue their story. By knowing them and established a friendship that has taken almost two years they allowed me to know their personal stories, their problems, their dreams and the unique universe in which they are immersed. The twins do not work, they do not live a common life which is socially established, they are surrounded by symbols, codes, metaphors, fiction stories that seem real or real stories that seem fiction. Among those many stories that hide I decide to keep one of an abduction that they said they had. They are faithful believers of UFOs, of universes much more superior than this one, in which money does not exist. Tired of this society, his biggest dream is that a starship arrives and take them far away from here. This is how, from their own dreams and beliefs, I construct Destined, a story that involves his reality in a different way. In my projects I keep a process similar to a cinematographic way, in a smallest scale having pre, pro and postproduction clear and organized of how I want it.
