The work of the Japanese photographer Shoji Ueda (1913-2000) takes as reference the sand dunes of Tottori (鳥取 砂丘 Tottori-sakyū), gigantic formations on the coast, near the city of Tottori.
A place where visitors walk towards the crest of the dune, to meet the horizon of the sea and the sunset.
A round trip, surrounded by sand and united by Shintoism and the veneration of the "Kami" or spirits of nature.
Eighteen years after the disappearance of Ueda, I return to the place to find the trail of the missing photographer ...

Antonio Pérez is a photographer, professor in the Communication, New Media and Journalism program of CIEE and a regular collaborator in various educational centers, art galleries and public institutions, as well as NGOs and foundations related to international cooperation.
With studies in History of Art (University of Seville, Spain) and Fine Arts (University of Cologne, Germany), his work has appeared in individual and collective exhibitions, in prestigious publications such as "Dictionary of Spanish Photographers" (2014), and has been recognized by different national and international awards.
He has done photographic works in Mali, Burkina Faso, Morocco, Senegal, Mauritania, Ghana, Togo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Israel, Syria, the West Bank, Somalia, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Cuba, Japan, China, as well as throughout Europe.
