an aerial spirit, a yawning abyss

Combining imagery taken from our bodies of recent work, “an aerial spirit, a yawning abyss” is a conversation of photographs between myself, Lindsay Tripp, and photographer Kate Schneider. Our imagery, collaged together in a playful collaboration, creates a new shared reality despite our distance as friends and artistic peers. Working with the home, the body, and how these energies inhabit space. Animals, murky water, bare bodies of friends and of ourselves. Sparkling-not-quite-identifiable materials, ghosts rustling the leaves of trees. Open natural spaces awaiting some sort of ceremony, windows & doors awaiting passage through. All these themes and situations are key elements in the world of “an aerial spirit”; a world that accounts for all the gray areas and brings the viewer to a place that is soft and familiar, yet undeniably mysterious.
