Hiroshima mon amour is a meditation on life after loss and on the personal experience of memory.
The title I chose because of its link to the bombed city, rebuilt after the catastrophe of the war, but unable to escape its past, which I used as a metaphor of my experience. The photographs depict the necessity to feel and reach someone unreachable, blank spaces, the temporary sense of fulfilment created by illusion or love, as well as the fear of letting it go.
Texture is present in most photographs, needing proof of existence in some way of what survives only in something as immaterial and intangible as memory.
