Self-Aggression – is a mechanism of psychological defense, when aggression cannot be directed at someone or something outside, so the subject directs it to oneself. This can be called conscious and subconscious self-destruction.
The participants of our project – successful young women living in the big cities and characterized by a self- destructive behavior. They cause themselves physical injuries or often find themselves in dangerous situations.

Lilia Li-Mi-Yan (born in 1971 in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan) and Katherina Sadovsky (born in 1985 in Dzerzhinsk, Russia) are a duo of Russian artists, currently living and working in Moscow. They both graduated from Rodchenko Art School, Moscow where they studied photography. They have been working together since 2016. In addition to collaborative projects, each artist is doing her in her own art practice separately .Their versatile approach to art practice covers such art media as photography, painting, sculpture, photobooks, installation, video, sound, intervention into public and natural spaces, social activism on collection of plastic waste in Moscow.
Li-Mi-Yan and Sadovsky explore the themes of death, violence and deformation – not only physical, but also mental.
